The SSNED is currently inviting eligible entities to submit proposals for funded training workshops.
By way of guidance, it is suggested that a training workshop should cater for about 15 participants and engage around 5 resource persons. The themes could include any aspect of economic and environmental governance. The total funding requested from SSNED should not normally exceed USD35,000 covering cost of travel, accommodation, and a modest diem for about 20 persons (participants and resource persons). The host institution is expected to co-finance the project by providing support such as workshop facilities, airport transfers, refreshments during coffee breaks, lunches and a cocktail reception.
Institutions interested in collaborating with the SSNED in organising a training workshop on issues of major concern to small states are invited to contact the SSNED Secretariat to submit a proposal in this regard.Expression of Interest
The first step is to submit an expression of interest by filling in the TR1 form, on the basis of which the Network may approve the project in principle.
Requesting Funds
Following approval in principal, the interested Institution will be invited to submit a Training Workshop Request Document (TWRD) by filling in the TR2 form. In this form the potential beneficiary institution will specify the objectives of the workshop, draw up a work programme and request funds for the implementation of the project.
Contract
If the TWRD proposal (as indicated in the TR2 form) is accepted by the SSNED, the Network will enter into a contract with the Beneficiary Institution in order to implement the project.
Further information can be obtained from the SSNED Secretariat.
